Bill Rainboth - PGA of Canada Head Professional
William (Bill) Rainboth is thrilled to be your new Head Professional! He has been a Class A member of the PGA of Canada for 22 years. There isn't much that he has not done with 25 years in the business of golf. He has held supporting roles, been a teaching Professional and has also been a General Manager at an 18 hole facility. Bill is a PGA of Canada Level IV certified golf instructor, and has worked with everyone from the accomplished golfer to the raw beginner. He has also been certified by Callaway, Titleist, Cobra and Ping as a club fitter.
Regardless of the role or his employer, his personal mandate has been to promote the game of golf, and to work to improve the golfing experience of his clientele.
Having worked at numerous facilities, he is keenly aware that there is no roadmap to success that suits all golf businesses. The same can be said as it pertains to how he approaches golf instruction: "My coaching starts with good fundamentals: Grip, posture, alignment and ball position, but after that, good coaching is entirely tailored to the goals and physical abilities of the student. No two golfers are the same, and similarly there is no one way to swing a golf club." All instruction begins with an interview with the client, where the objective is to determine what they hope to achieve from the instruction. From there he will lay out a plan of attack, touching back with the student to make sure that he has correctly understood their needs and goals. He considers golf instruction to be a privilege, and on a personal level, Bill considers golf instruction to be the single most satisfying aspect of his chosen profession. "When a client shows improvement, or hits a golf shot that has been previously difficult to execute - I truly share the joy in all my students' achievements!".
